I hate the 'P' word. It's just one of those ugly little words on my don't list: panties. However, undergarments are peeping out to make a huge statement this year. Spring suits and floral sets look like sexy, silky pjs. Dresses from spring collections are visions of nighties, and fall's evening wear is reminiscent of glamorous nightgowns. The runways playfully tease audiences with fleshy cutouts and billowing translucent fabrics making one daydream of a spectacular, enchanted boudoir. Kinda makes you wanna toss those granny unders, huh?

Vans Girls is making quite the statement with their new line in womens wear. Teaming with Teen Vogue for their Spring 2008 Fashion Show and splattering their glossy ads with new fabrics, designs and a vibrant kick ass color scheme, they've certainly caught our eye. Their smart advertising campaign where their surfer chicks meet the street is edgy and fun. Plus, Vans is staying true to their roots by building up off of their classic soles. So take a peek of what they've got in store and hit the pavement with some new feet decor.

Marc Jacobs Misplaced-Heel DramaRama

Alright, I come to you now, the Brett Chisholm Photography and Houston resident style expert ready to put my two fashion sense in...finally. And amidst the Marc Jacobs debate of course! So, let's talk style and why I agree with Miss Pattie Nichelle of BCP that the Misplaced-Heel Pump is a winner. First, spring 2008 shoe trends call for rounder, curvier toes, chunky platforms and peep toe wedges; I'd say we can all agree that the new Marc Jacobs design fits seamlessly into these categories. Second, from flip flops to dressed-up, shoes coming off the catwalk for spring are ignoring the rest of your clothes for once. Now, instead of just a matching accessory, shoes are telling stories, creating statements and becoming traveling art. When better than now to boast this out-of-the-box design of Marc Jacobs Misplaced-Heel Pump? Third, understandably there are function concerns...not to mention comfort. Total tool that I am, I got out my ruler and compass. It seems to me that, although my measurements are most definitely not exact, the dispersion of weight would make comfort work kind of like that of a stiletto--at least in the heel. And the chunky-ness of the misplaced heel would give some extra arch support, I would think. Hmm, the heel sounds much less like the ankle turner initially thought by critics. Whatever, I'm pretty sure Marc Jacobs and co. tested their product before production. Plus, the models in this month's Elle look freaking fabulous playfully posing in the "hazardous" shoe. Fourth, I was always taught that the quintessential fashion icon keeps fashion moving forward. Regardless of personal taste, it cannot be denied that Mr. Jacobs is doing exactly that. Trying new designs and boldly stepping in new directions, upping the ante and taking it to the next level. It's time to stop regurgitating fashion: embrace an open mind and take on something fresh!
